With increasing distance between the monitor and the driver´s eyes, the objects being displayed on the monitor appear smaller.
For a 7” display the distance should be between 40 an 100 cm.
MEKRAtronics cameras are available with various aperture angle which - depending on mounting position and requirements - provide an ideal representation of the targeted field of vision.
Please consider the following: While a larger aperture angle extends the total area displayed, objects in that area will appear smaller.
Low Distortion Cameras
You will notice that the product description of several MEKRA CMOS camera models contains the keyword "low distortion".
This term refers to using a special processing technique for images which would normally appear distorted.
The illustrations on the right clearly show the difference between a "distorted" image (top) and a low-distotion image (bottom).
Camera Systems, CMOS-Camera Components
The 100000 series of MEKRAtronics camera systems offers a particularly high level of technological sophistication. Rather than employing traditional CCD sensors, which are often plagued by streaking/blooming and smear effects, our cameras are equiped with CMOS sensors, which due to their optimized configuration offer the same light sensitivity as traditional CCD cameras while consuming less energy.
Thanks to specially sealed die-cast aluminum housings and fully molded connecting cables, these cameras meet the rigorous ingress protection requiremnts of protection class IP69 K, making them the perfect fit for applications involving long-term submersion and high-pressure, high-temperature spray downs.
Additionally, our camera systems meet all relevant ADR requirements pertaining to transport equipment carrying dangerous goods.
